I’ve always been a big fan of any group or project that humanizes sex work or raises awareness about neglected communities in general. Occasionally, I even have the privilege of knowing some of the people working toward those ends. I’ve only seen the trailer for Invisible, but it looks promising, and the people involved seem really dedicated to the project. I’m really interested to see the final product. “There are men who roam the streets of Providence, Rhode Island and remain unseen – unless you are looking. “Invisible” seeks them out to delve into the world of male prostitution. Many of these hustlers, as well as their clientele, identify as heterosexual. What is it that drives two straight men together in such encounters, and why is this phenomenon so overlooked?
“Invisible” explores this question by looking at masculinity, sex, poverty, drug abuse, and the city where it all happens: Providence, RI.”
