Now this is a project I can get behind! The Gender Book is a colorful, accessible resource for educating anyone and everyone about the vast diversity of gender. It lays out all of the relevant terms and concepts pertaining to gender in one handy and simple to understand book. The book, and the handier abbreviated booklet, are free for everyone to read, print, and share.
Its also a community-oriented project, which means it is created to help educate all of our many communities and it is also made possible by community. This is the coolest part! We all have so many different understandings and experiences with gender that there is no cut and dry definition for even the simplest seeming gender-related terms. So, The Gender Book, in true popular education form, creates dialog about the beautiful variation of gender and its expressions. Your feedback actually influences what appears in the book and there are many ways to interact. You can donate financially, print booklets to distribute, fill out the survey, or share your stories and opinions.
