Saving the Penguins, One Cuddly Sweater at a Time

Okay, so it doesn’t have anything at all to do with sex toys, but… people are knitting tiny sweaters for penguins.

The oil spill off of the coast of Tauranga has had tragic environmental effects, including harming local penguins. So, the lovely folks at New Zealand yarn shop, Skeinz is leading an effort to save the penguins by getting knitters to make and donate tiny woolen jumpers. The sweaters protect the birds and prevent them from ingesting oil when preening. And they look mighty fashionable to boot. I hope these pictures of adorable be-sweatered penguins warm your night.

Also, how ingenious is this tuxedo penguin sweater?
