It’s International Fisting Day!

Celebrate the Fist!

Today is International Fisting Day.. a holiday/call to action started by porn revolutionaries Jiz Lee and Courtney Trouble.

Frustrated the fact that the act of fisting is censored in porn, Lee & Trouble started this day of action to celebrate a sex act that is safely enjoyed by tons of people, yet cut out of porn all the time. By contrast, I can assure that far fewer women love licking toilet bowls yet that seems to be a perfectly fine thing to show in mainstream porn.

So how should you celebrate? Well, if you are one who enjoys the act, make some time for it tonight! If you have never tried it, perhaps tonight is the night! Curious to learn more about the how? Check out this awesome book Hand in the Bush. And make sure if you are acting out your own private porn that you have plenty of body-safe lube and gloves!

Here are some other ways that the organizers suggest:

THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION. Call up your favorite porn retailers, fill out those Contact Us forms, spread the word on your Twitters, Tumblrs, and Facebooks – that you WANT TO SEE FISTING and you will happily spend money on a film that shows authentic orgasms and authentic fucking on film. HASHTAG: #fisting

“Anyone who does it knows it can be one of the most intimate, consensual, and beautiful connections between lovers. Everyone can enjoy fisting. And for those of us in the queer community, fisting is a sex act that is actually quite popular. It’s for this reason that I say: Fisting censorship discriminates against queer sex. You may be surprised to know that fisting happens quite often in my films, you just can’t see it because it’s been angled or edited out. While many queer porn websites celebrate and show hand sex proudly, the act has been cut out of DVDs and left on the editing floor for decades. For as long as I’ve known, vaginal fisting has been censored by distributors, and while it’s still okay to show it online, where many people are increasingly watching their porn, some Video on Demand websites have started to ban fisting footage in an effort avoid possible obscenity charges. It’s just not right, and it’s downright homophobic. I hope that very soon we look back at this moment and think: “WTF?!”” – JIZ LEE (http://jizlee.com/wordpress/october-21st-is-fisting-day/)

“I am a female pornographer, as well as an artist, small business owner, and performer. I have spent ten years in front of and behind the camera, running my own websites and editing my own films, every single day FIGHTING for my rights as a female to have and show authentic orgasms and authentic sex on camera. There is no law against fisting, not in porn or in life. The reason you can’t see it, isn’t because it’s illegal – it’s because retailers refuse to sell it. I can’t take it anymore. I from here on out refuse to make edits to make my work “safe” for companies. My work is offered as-is, take it (and make money off of it), or leave it.” – COURTNEY TROUBLE (http://courtneytrouble.com/blog/fisting/)
