I wanted to share with you the great work that Ann over at Feministing did in categorizing this list of names people call vaginas. Aside from the obvious conclusions, I was amazed by just how METAL a lot of these names are. So, I have decided to add my own indicator to Ann’s key…

    laughing in the library reading this, mostly because of CRADLE OF FILTH, which is badass as all get-out.

    yoni ACTUALLY means cunt in hindi/sanskrit/other indian languages…. so that's a pretty silly thing to put on this list.
    also strange that ann didn't write anything about the etymology of vagina, which as we learned from inga muscio, means scabbard/sheath in latin! so that's another word which connotes “your cunt is just a place to put a penis”

    hm, maybe i'll post this on feministing too..

    Some trans men refer to their vaginas as “manholes,” though I'm guessing its inclusion on the list above isn't a reference to such.

    Manhole is just plain wrong. That's what gay men call the anus. Anus does not equal vagina.
