Sometimes people ask me why they should shop at Early to Bed and besides the obvious reason (it is my store and I love it) I’d like to share you with some reasons that shopping at EtB is not only awesome, but good for the community:
We LOVE sex toys and take them very seriously. I didn’t get into this business because I wanted to make a ton of cash. I started Early to Bed because I love good quality sex toys and wanted to share them with the world! You won’t find products at EtB that we don’t trust. Sure, sometimes that means we don’t stock items that have a big media buzz or are popular, but we are just trying to save you the frustration of buying something that we really don’t feel is worth the the money or the hype (and we’ll be happy to tell you why!). We also don’t believe in gouging people price-wise, so we price things fairly to be able to give you the best deal we can.
We are a small independent business that really cares about our customers. We are not some faceless organization. As the owner I am in the shop almost everyday making sure that our clients are being served well. In fact you can always reach me (searah(at)early2bed.com) if you need to and you can rest assured that individual attention is paid to each customer and each order, if not by me then by one our of friendly, hard-working, knowledgeable staff people. If you have questions about how a toy works, what might be a good choice for you or where to find info on a particular subject, we are here for you and will do our best to help you.
We try to be a valuable sex education resource as well as a business. We know that there are lots of questions people have about sex but don’t who to ask, so we are happy to help folks find the answer to sex-related questions even it has nothing to do with a sex toy or purchasable item. We spend a good deal of our time doling out free advice and sharing resources because it is part of our mission to help make everyone’s sex life better, even if it does not result in sale. If you have a question about sex, sexuality, gender or health that goes beyond our knowledge, we’ll try a help direct you to a resource that does. We want everyone to have happy, healthy lives and are pleased when we are able to connect folks with community resources that can help do that. We also have a small reading area with books available to read in the store so folks can educate themselves on a wide range of sex-related topics.
We give back. We are committed to making the world a better, healthier place so in addition to helping people have more orgasms, we donate our time and resources to non-for-profits. Often it is donating raffle prizes for benefits, sometimes it is a free workshop at a local social service organization, sometimes it is helping sponsor a customer’s walk against breast cancer and whenever we can, it is writing a check to people who are helping fight for justice and sexual freedom. I am a true believer that we can be a retail store that goes beyond just selling things and we try very hard to be an active, positive part of our community and to use what we have to help when we can. We have been really lucky to partner with many social service agencies and non-for-profits over the years providing sex education for their clients and communities.
