Carnal Consultant Review – Writers and Rockstars DVD

Writers and Rockstars
by Joe

I have to make a confession: before watching Writers & Rockstars I wasn’t that familiar with Madison Young. I’d heard of her and knew she was part of the BDSM world, but I’d never seen any of her movies.

Writers & Rockstars showed up with the following legend written on the DVD case:

“Starring Madison Young and Daniel along with some surprise sexual appearances by hungry cunts and cocks.

After dating hundreds of musicians I’ve come to the conclusion that rockers play music the same way that they fuck. Some like to play hard and fast and some slow and soft… What kind of rocker are you? Young poetess Madison divulges her steamy sexual experiences with hot rock stars. Lots of hot boy/girl and girl/girl sex set to a killer soundtrack that will keep you hard, wet, and ready to rock.”

Okay, it’s hard to say “no” to a teaser like that. With that in mind, I slipped Writers & Rockstars into my DVD player and off we went.

Written and directed by Madison, the movie follows her and her friends through various couplings. The scenes are interspersed with Madison’s poetry readings, which act as a sort of internal exposition to the action we’ve just seen (or are about to see).

The music by The Casual Lust runs between emo and mall-punk. It doesn’t distract from what’s happening on the screen and manages to set a mood, so that’s a good thing.

My favorite thing about Writers & Rockstars is that there’s no silicone or other enhancements here. You truly get the impression that these are real people having a real good time with each other, and I find that incredibly erotic. And when Madison gets into full “sub” mode, you can see she’s having the most fun of anyone in the cast.

There are four scenes in the movie: Madison and James Mogul; Madison and Daniel; Madison and Dia Zerva; and Dia Zerva and Dylan Ryan. Each scene could stand on its own, yet taken together the viewer gets a more complete picture of what makes Madison tick.

The scene with James Mogul starts out innocently enough with Madison wearing cat-eye glasses and writing her poetry. James walks in with a camcorder and before long our heroine eagerly gives him a blowjob while he tapes it.

Madison then meets one of the eponymous “rockstars,” Daniel, on the vacant stage of a nightclub. When he shoves her up against the side of the stage and begins to take her roughly, you start to get the idea of what’s to follow. Candle wax and belts are involved, and Madison seems to enjoy every bit of it.

We then see Madison’s encounter with a “well-schooled” woman: “I wanted her to dominate me– to consume me” as she says in her poem. We cut to an empty bar where we meet Dia Zerva, another “rockstar.” Here, Madison is her assistant—the person in charge of tickets and T-shirts. Dia, clad in standard studded-leather rockstar garb, looks from the stage as she tunes her guitar and smiles at Madison, and within a few minutes Dia does, in fact, dominate and “consume” Madison very enthusiastically on the bar.

Finally, Dia meets Dylan Ryan in the bathroom of the bar, and after telling Dylan what a fan she is, Dia flips from dom to sub very convincingly. Dylan takes control of the situation and soon the pair are in complete carnal pleasure.

The entire movie is shot with hand-held cameras, but is done very well and tastefully. This does not have the feel of some movies I’ve seen where you get the impression that the director told the cameraman to “just get in there NOW.” The shots are all set up nicely, the lighting is flattering, and the audio is just right.

Whether or not you’re familiar with Madison Young, you may want to check out Writers and Rockstars if you’re looking for something a little edgier than the usual adult movie.
